The helicopter – highly versatile in its use
Rega is most frequently called out to deal with winter sport, road, occupational and Alpine accidents. It also carries out numerous interhospital transfer flights. In addition, Rega transports organs, blood, medicaments and medical specialists.
Further types of missions include:
- Rescues from avalanches and glacier crevasses
- Evacuations from cable cars, gondolas and chairlifts
- Diving accidents
- Search and rescue service for missing aircraft (SAR)
- Search flights for missing persons
- Rescues from caves
- Fire-fighting
- Rescues of livestock
On many of these missions, Rega works in close collaboration with specialised partners.
