Urs Nagel is in charge of the Jet Operations division. This is responsible for advising patients abroad, as well as organising and carrying out repatriations back to Switzerland. The staff of the Jet Operations division run the round-the-clock Jet Operations Centre together with the Medical Advisory Service. 

 

Curriculum vitae, Urs Nagel

Urs Nagel was born on 1 May 1961. After completing an apprenticeship as an electronics technician and finishing vocational secondary school, he spent seven years as a professional military pilot and flight instructor, flying various combat aircraft operated by the Swiss Air Force. In addition, he was a member of the Patrouille Suisse display team.

From 1991 to 2002, Urs Nagel worked as an airline pilot at Swissair, as well as a flight instructor for the Swiss Aviation School in various locations in Switzerland, Germany and the USA. Parallel to this, he acted as expert examiner for the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA). Between 2002 und 2004, he held the position of Head of Training at the Swiss Air Force Pilot School and, holding the rank of Wing Commander, was in charge of the Federal Air Transport Services at the Bern-Belp base in 2005 and 2006.

In 2007, Urs Nagel took over the position of Chief Pilot of Rega’s jet fleet. Since 2011, he has been in charge of the Jet Operations division and is a member of the Management Board.

Urs Nagel is married and has two sons.
