Instant inheritance check

In Switzerland, inheritance law is governed by the Swiss Civil Code and stipulates who the statutory heirs are and what portion of the estate they will receive. The new inheritance law has been in force since 1 January 2023. The most important changes concern the so-called free quota (the portion that you can dispose of freely) and the abolition of the compulsory portion for parents.

You may freely dispose of the portion of your estate that exceeds the compulsory portion for surviving spouses, registered partners and children. If there are no heirs who are entitled to inherit the compulsory portion, you may, by drawing up a will, dispose of your entire estate as you wish and thus name relatives or non-profit organisations such as Rega as beneficiaries.

The instant inheritance check shows you how your estate will be distributed if you die without leaving a will. You can also see what percentage is freely disposable if you draw up a will.

Please note that our instant inheritance check is a third-party application. Therefore its accessibility may be limited.
