For 50 years now, Rega’s crew from Basel has been taking off on missions from its base at EuroAirport, bringing medical assistance to patients around the clock. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for their support. We are therefore opening the hangar door of our base in the border triangle on Saturday, 13 September 2025, from 10 am to 5 pm.

Take a close-up look at Rega's rescue helicopter, get an insight into the hangar with fascinating information and demonstrations, and find out first-hand about the everyday life of a Rega crew.

Highlights

There are numerous highlights in store for guests of all ages:

  • The latest H145 D3 rescue helicopter and Da Vinci search helicopter
  • Swiss Alpine Rescue (Jura Rescue Station) with a climbing wall
  • Airport fire department with emergency vehicle
  • Northwest Switzerland Rescue Services with ambulance
  • Black Forest Mountain Rescue Service with reconnaissance vehicle and mountain rescue vehicle
  • Helicopter bouncy castle and children's entertainment
  • Rega shop
  • Food trucks and festival catering

Directions and admission

We recommend traveling by public transport:

  • A free shuttle bus runs every 15 minutes between Basel SBB railway station (platform A) and the Rega base.
  • The first bus leaves Basel SBB railway station at 9:30 a.m., and the last bus leaves the base at 5:15 p.m.

If you are traveling by car, only the regular, paid parking spaces at EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg are available (limited number). Rega does not provide parking spaces. The base is about a 1 km walk from the main airport building.

Alternatively, you can also travel by bicycle; parking spaces are available at the base.

Important: The Rega base in Basel is located on French territory. This means that you will be crossing the border from Switzerland to France on your way there.

As the Rega base in Basel is located on the grounds of EuroAirport, special security and access regulations apply to this event. Please note:

  • There will be checks upon entry. Please have your bags ready for a quick check.
  • Bags must not be larger than A4 – unfortunately, larger items of luggage may not be brought onto the event site.
  • Admission may take some time – please allow sufficient time for your journey and admission.

We thank you for your understanding and look forward to seeing you there!
